Learning Outcomes
The participants should have acquired an in-depth knowledge in the functionality of, current challenges for, and how state-of-the-art neutron techniques are crucial for the development of the following sustainable energy devices:
- Rechargeable Batteries
- Super Capacitors
- Solid-state Hydrogen Storage
- Flexible Electronics
- Photovoltaics
- Thermoelectrics
- Magnetocalorics
Course Main Content
The course will start with a brief introduction to neutron scattering and sustainable energy, as well as fundamental electrochemistry. It will further cover some of the most important technologies (e.g. rechargeable batteries, H-storage, photovoltaics, etc.) and how neutrons can assist the development within these important fields.
For more details, see the Program.
Examination & Requirements for final grade
Active Participation in the Course (asking questions, being active in discussions)
Preparing and presenting a poster
After the course: preparing a written report on the topic "How neutrons can save the world"
